This piece was originally painted for my sister Peg after one of their dogs was tragically hit and killed in front of their home. The inukshuk represents their beloved dog’s presence and the lasting place they hold in their family’s memories.

Her boys enjoyed fishing in Northern Ontario, which inspired the large fish jumping from the water. I also wanted the trees to capture the feeling and beauty of the northern landscape that holds so many special memories for them.
